She began her professional training in dance and musical theater at the Boston Conservatory of Music and then went on to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts, where she majored in Dance Performance and Theater Education (concentration in Musical Theater).
While studying at Emerson she was assistant dance teacher at the Brookline Ballet School and also performed in summer stock musicals and community theater performances . She has been living in Greece since 1984 where she is a faculty member and coordinator of the Dance Department of the American College of Greece in Athens.

She teaches Creative Movement, Kinesiology, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theater at the College and also choreographs and directs the Deree Dance Company.
Among the musicals she has directed at the American College of Greece are:
"Jesus Christ Superstar", "Song and Dance","America on Broadway","From Hollywood to Broadway", "Laughing Through Our Tears", and "Chryssothemis", an original musical by Olga Emmanuel.
Since 1995 she has been teaching dance, movement for actors and musical theater at the Veaki School of Dramatic Arts where she also directs and choreographs the degree granting examinations for dance and musical theater which have included works such as "Chicago", "Fame", "The Boyfriend", "Crazy for You", "A Little Night Music", "Nine", etc...
In 1998 Cindi taught a ten month seminar to the Alumni organization of the University of Athens Theater Department. The seminar consisted of methods of organization and production of dance and musical theater performances as well as directing and choreographic principles.
In the winter of 2004 and more recently during the summer of 2009 she taught a 12 day seminar and performance project in Musical Theater Performance for the Music Department of the Ionio University in Corfu. The seminar ended with a Musical Revue entitled "Summer Nights On Broadway", which was performed at the Municipal Theater in Corfu.
