Leonidas Loizidis

HELEN GΑΪTATZIS

The composer Helen Gaϊtatzis was born in Zurich, Switzerland. She grew up in Thessalonica, Greece. She studied classical guitar, piano, classical singing, melodrama, composing and orchestration.

She lives and creates music in Piraeus. In 2001 she founded the Children’s Choir of  the Club of Unesco of the Department Piraeus & Islands and directed it for 3 years. In 2004 she founded and since then she directs  the “Choral Workshop and the Minor Orchestra” of   Helen Gaϊtatzis

Some of her musical work has been presented from famous musicians, singers and choirs. She has also composed the Opera “Nekyia”, the Hellenic Cantata “Chios’ Regards”, scenic music, music for ancient drama, vocal, piano and instrumental works, too. She set to music poems of Greek Poets such as K. Kavafis, K. Karyotakis, K. Palamas, A. Papadiamantis, D. Pistikos, G. Ritsos, G. Seferis e.t.c

As a composer, she works with the Center of Theater’s Semeiotics of the University of Athens and she is a member of Panhellenic Musician’s Union and of the Papadiamantis’ Studies Association.

 


 

 

The Theatre Scheme of Leonidas Loizides was established as an non-profit organization, with aim the spread across the world of the Greek culture, traveling with remarkable theatrical productions of ancient Greek drama in all the world, winning awards and excellent reviews wherever they were performed.
